Nirbhay Singh Gurjar or "Baagi", was one of the last dacoits of the Chambal. He terrorized the Chambal ravines, the lawless zone at the cusp of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. He was said to run a parallel government in about 40 villages in the Chakranagar area of Uttar Pradesh and slept only two hours a day. With as many as 205 criminal cases registered against him over a period of 30 years, Gujjar carried a bounty of Rs 2.5 lakh provided by the Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Madhya Pradesh (MP) police. He was one of the most wanted dacoits of Chambal, India.〔()〕 Gujjar died on November 8, 2005 when he was killed by the police. ==References==
